the way i see it about top end is yes it will take some mph off your top speed, but you dont need to be going 180 mph any damn way. and in reality, your probably increasing your actual top speed because the gears put you in a higher rpm at that higher speed. i know with my stock 3.42 gears at 150ish i put it into 6th and it wasn't pulling too hard because i was at too low of RPM's. but i didn't have much hp either at the time.

What he said. Definitely gonna put you in the top of the RPM range quicker. However you have to think about things like does your cam need you to be that high and can your bearings take 6000+ rpm. With stock cam and stock bottom, you're not gonna need the top so much. However, it'll give you some grunt on the bottom end and you're definitely gonna be able to chirp the tires. If you plan on doing a big motor in the future, the 10 bolt won't last long but if this is a bolt on car, then I'd say 3.73's would be a great idea. Only problem is that gears aren't something to do yourself.

3:73 for sure..I have them and love them, big SOP difference..stall and tranny cooler..., subframe connectors

With those mods, it will wake your car up drastically and handle better.
