bad o2's I think....

Well, it seems when I first start the car, before it goes into closed loop, it runs better. I can do much longer burnouts etc

After a while of driving it isn't as easy to burnout......heck unless I am at a complete stop it wont do a thing.......I do have brand new ES-100's though.

I decided I might try unplugging one o2 and see if it stayed running strong, but the darn plug is pretty stuck. Before I go wrestling the darn thing off, is there another way to force open loop?

same problem here and when it goes into closed loop does is stumble from a stop?

thebufenator May 20, 2007 11:54 PM

It doesn't stumble, but it isn't as powerful. Heck, it could be the tires getting warmer and gripping better, I might just need a stall, but I am pretty sure its not as powerful.

is your ses light on?

thebufenator May 20, 2007 11:59 PM

Nope, no lights.
I did have the ABS light on, but just fixed that. One of the sensors was loose......

94CamaroLT1 May 21, 2007 12:02 AM

mine comes on after it stumbles from stops for a while

when my o2 sensor was bad i would start the car let it warm up a little ran fine but burned shit load gas then i would have the light go on and hte car would just fall flat on its face. it would loose power and bog once in a while. maybe your car needs a tune up. have you changed the wires and plugs yet?

get a scanner and scan for the code. when my o2 sensor was bad i had 7 codes but two where because i was running no cats

Its had a full tune-up, except for o2's.

I took a look at them lastnight, there are pretty rusted on.

Is there any way to force open loop other then unplugging the o2's?

97Lt1TA May 21, 2007 10:37 AM

i would change the o2's its part of a tune up also. the stock ones are a bitch to take of use alot of pb blaster. also you can try to take them out and wiping the part that is inside the exhaust with a rag might help

i just swapped my o2s man they were a pain. i ended up dropping both down pipes and the cat mount and let it hang. then i beat a socket on to the o2 and heated it till it was glowing and it came right out.

i hope you don't have as hard a time as i did.
