it doesnt flow all that great and most people dont like the sound of it. including me i had the American Thunder cat back on a 94z with hot cam kit and headers and stuff with no cat it pops a ton. then got anoter car and it already had a borla and i liked it. but now i just got stuff in today to go true duals and i cant wait

It is because its a crossflow muffler. Crossflow mufflers are not going to flow as well as a regular muffler. Manly because of the design it gets a bad rep.

I liked how it sounded on my TPI car, but those flow differently than an LT1. I guess the problem is, they don't flow enough, like cody said. They're better than stock mufflers, but just not as good as the other brand's.

if i can get the borla off without cutting it up too much i will sell it. it doesnt have the original borla plates with it, but i made some of my own, and with four holes about the size of a pencil each it sounds really good and doesnt pop. i will sell it for 200

I went from the flowmaster to a hooker cat back. The hooker sounds a hundred times better!! plus it is one of the best flowing cat backs out there besides the loudmouth I hear. The flowmaster sounded raspy and was kind of annoying...the hooker is more deep and throaty..my .02 cents

That is correct.

The crossflow is designed like ****, the exhaust gases enter the muffler threw 1 inlet and then a X design is inside the muffler. The exhaust then fights itself to try and find an exit.

All the 80 series mufflers are ****, 1inlet/2outlets.

Tony.

Honestly I'm not sure why everyone gripes about them. I was given one so I threw it on my car as the first mod. Even with stock exhaust including cats, it sounded great. Then I got longtube headers and removed the cats and it sounded even better. When I didn't think it could sound any better, I got a hotcam and once again, sounds great.

I get no pops from it and it's not raspy at all. It's a relatively deep sound but also sounds awesome at WOT.

Here are some crappy videos taken with my friends phone, but you can kind of hear what it sounds like.

Note the smoke is from seafoaming at the time.
