getting rid of crank position sensor

I have a 97 trans am and I am currently getting a motor put into my car. Well the timing chain cover that got put on was for a 93-95 the ones without the hole for the crank position senor. I have heard that you can get rid of it some how but i do not know how. Do you get rid of it by tuning the computer or what.

You'll most likely need to convert to OBD1. It's pretty simple to do. Any of the mail order tuners or any good tuners local to you should be able to hook you up.

You don't need to convert to OBD1. Just remove it from the tunning. I have a 97 as well, with the crankshaft sensor removed. I had to get it done because of the stroker application.

cool, well that's an easier solution then. wasn't sure if you could do that. good to know. :)

that is exactly what i have a 383 stroker. So the tuner should be able to get rid of it through the tune.
