NEW BEST's with room to improve >>UPDATE on car :went out to US41 and was happier then ever, besides now losing ignition on the car on the pass that i have been waiting for over a year for i am still smiling ear to ear.I have to do some investigating next week to try and still make it to N v's S. well here it is>>>>>>>>>>> I am not sure on the exact weather conditions but temp was about 65 degree's. changes since last time: Bogart RT welded 15x3 w/26x4.5 Hoosier fronts 15x10 w/26x10 Hoosier drags and Corbeau TRS seats in leather which added about 40+ lbs. The car weighs in at about 3500lbs. I have done a few weight reduction(ac/heat,air bags, rear seat, low mount altenator,k-member/a-arms,manual rack, manual brakes, steering wheel, front sway bar, hood) but added the 10pt cage, heavier seats and a bunch of pretty things under the hood. quick info on car: 96 Z28 RGR 383 solid roller 252/622 111lsa,RGR S2 LT1 heads Hooker LT's w/ 4" Mufflex TH400 w/Vig 4200 Moser 9" w3.90 and spool n/a 415rwhp 424rwtq TNT 572rwhp 628rwtq(200 shot&a bit lean),car likes to be fat best N/A 11.08 off foot brake 122 mph 1.51 60ft best N20 >The first pass i really babied out of the gates 10.1 @ 135.9 1.53 60ft. >best ET 10.0 (1.44 60ft)and back fired, lost ignition and died at the 1000ft mark and coasted to a 121 mph, this would have been my 9.8 pass that i wanted and on my first time out:) The spray runs were off the foot brake and rolling quickly into the throttle.I have to get a Race rear sway bar on the car,it's a hand full but fun;) I run the car as i drive it on the street other then changing tires. This is a street car and driven alot on the dry days. I will have the video's up soon . Larry www.ls1speed.com |
Re: NEW BEST's with room to improve Great to hear that it ran, or is capable of running what you wanted it to run. CONGRATS...now figure out that ignition issue and go crack some mid nines :D |
Re: NEW BEST's with room to improve the drag bar will definitly help you out a ton. i was standing behind you on the last pass, you were driving the hell out of that thing :eek2:. i was a little confused as to why the car was torquing over so much since i thought you already had a drag sway bar on it so that makes sense now. i have a Wolfe on mine. car launches flat and goes straight, even without any preloading on the sway bar so far. |
Re: NEW BEST's with room to improve I hope to have the igniton figured out and the bar on it by Thursday to get to N v's S. Daren your car looked good, launched straight and ran a great #. The car was definetly a hand full,i can't wait to get it to stick and run a real time. :D Larry |
