Default Z06 85MM MAF, who is using it?

I have seen a few guys using it, just wanted some first hand experience from those that are. I feel that the Z06 MAF will benifit me, and yes I will be getting the car tuned on a dyno. How different are the stocker and the Z06 in reporting the airflow?

The difference in frequency too GPS reading is HUGE, talking cloud of black smoke and a car that wont do any more than idle HUGE. I tried it when it was first out and even with "professional" help could not get it tuned right.

That said I think you are wrong in believing it will benifit you, Ed Wright found single digits in eliminating the stock MAF on his 520rwhp car and that is through an 8" ati and A4. Meaning the rest of us are not going too tax the stocker NA.

It's like the one thing we're NOT suppost to mod and yet we still try at every turn. Modding is like drugs or tattoos, once you start it's hard to quit.

modding the MAF is like smoking resin from a bud pipe. its pointless and gives you little to nothing for trying.

I have it on my LS Stroker..and that's about the only place I wil run it. The Tables to run that MAF I don't think are compatible with the LT1 PCM Programming.

We are running a few of them.

no advantage mainly because of the electroinc tune inside the MAF

Do a search on cz28.com. There are several threads over there about how to get it to work. The short end is that you need to wire in a new connector for the MAF and then rescale your fuel tables. I was considering it because you can find them cheaper than lt1 MAF's and you know what you are getting, unlike with the LT1 MAF where it might be a Caprice 4.3L MAF.

The 4.3L caprice used the same MAF as the 5.7L Caprice which is clearly visibly smaller than the f-body unit.

I am running one on my LT1, Ed Wright adjusted for it, runs fine.

Ed also said it was worth 3 rwhp over a stock MAF.

It was late and I forgot they had the same MAF. But, you would be surprised how many people on ebay wouldn't measure or didn't know how to measure a MAF. Thats why I said it was a little easier to find a Z06 MAF.

That may be the case, however for the vast majority of people (who do not use tuners as good as Ed) the possibility of gaining 3hp is not worth screwing up their tune.
