Default LSx lifters in Gen I, II, lt block

i heard from a friend that you can run LSx lifters in a Gen I, II, LT based block.
i have a vortec truck block (96), basically an LT block but with std cooling, and rear dizzy.

i did some searching, and could only find the lifter diameter, thats at .842 which is standard SBC.

now, my queston is, are the overall height of the LSx lifters any taller, and would they work with the stock spider and retainers?

i read an article in Car Craft that you cant use a cam over 530 lift with stock lifters, as the cam is ground on a small base circle, and the lifter will have an easier time falling out of its retainer.
how true is this? anyone running a cam over 530 valve lift?

the cam i ordered is the lunati voodoo roller 60122 specs at 535/550 lift 231/239 duration with a 110/106 lsa.

thanks.

the only thing im worried with is this cam seems to have a real small base as compared to the stock l31 cam.

whats the difference with the ls7 lifters? are they much taller? and are they the same as ls2 lifters?

thanks

I ran Stock lifter since before your car was even made. They were always objecting but they worked.

My Morels were worth more HP on the dyno...go figure
