28 Mpg????

Hey guys, I have a 95 Z w/ t-56. I did pace setter lt's, -cat, flowmaster 80 series(I know a 10 series on its way) Morroso intake, Hypertech programmer.
And I consistantly get 25-28MPG on the freeway. It also will run dead even with an 02 stock ls1 corvete. Is this a special Camaro, or are all Lt 1's just that bad ass. Just curious, thanks guys

mine does the same stuff. lt1s are that badass. I even got 29.8 mpg one time.

ZONES89RS 09-01-2007 12:22 AM

I get 18 MPG dogging the shit outta mine.

ZONES89RS 09-01-2007 12:23 AM

Oh yea, stock i was getting raped by LS1s

LT Malice 09-01-2007 12:33 AM

I got 27mpg with similar mods. I was driving from tallahassee to pensacola though, and I think it's all downhill.

Captainofiron 09-01-2007 12:49 AM

T-56 = Touched by God

eLTwerker 09-01-2007 12:50 AM

What kind of city mpg are ya'll getting?

ZONES89RS 09-01-2007 12:51 AM

I need to see what mine does without doggin it.

My buddy got 32 highway coming back from Oregon. He said that's some of the best gas he's ever ran out on the west coast. Hig MPG got progressively worse when he got more towards home in MN.

Thats wierd, i wonder if elevation and temprature were a big factor, i would bet so, but damn, 32?!?! Wow, i would think i mucked up my calculations and triple check.

Not that it matters TOO much, but he has a 94 Vette M6. The M6's get much better, but I figure the vette helps a WEE bit due to aerodynamics.

Me either. I assume probably 3300~ gross. I have a C6 Z06 magazine "flyer" thinger, and it's just a yellow vet cruising with "3,132 lbs" on it. This would be the LS7 one.

ZONES89RS 09-01-2007 01:02 AM

Yea, the factory BEAST, GMs magnificent machine...

buffman 09-01-2007 03:17 PM

I got 28mpg on my roadmaster when it was stock. Mostly because of the 2.56s rear gears.

oh man, thats sick. now imagine if you put this gears with a t-56. 90 mph at 1300 rpms hahahaha.

firefighter34 09-02-2007 07:17 PM

Thanks for the feedback, I assumed that was the norm but it's good to hear. Makes me wonder what the new shit hole GT gets. I know that the first gen 4.6's got pretty shitty highway mpg. I had a buddys that got like 15, and dyno'd at 220 rwhp after every aftermarket bolt on you can buy. Pathetic

Matts94Z28 09-02-2007 08:09 PM

lol i have a stalled auto...12-15mpg!!

What exacly do you call "doggin"? Like, I shift before 2 grand with the m6 and I think 3.42s  Where do you guys shift around town for gas mileage?

Formula350 09-02-2007 11:40 PM

heh I like to shift my A4 around 3K :P I don't know if that's good or bad. But I don't like how soon it shifts on it's own. Shifts around 1.5 I think. And slips in then, not "goes" in like when I let it get more Rs for line pressure.
