Kooks LT/Y-pipe vs. Pacesetter LT/Y-Pipe.
Now, the price difference is HUGE.
Kooks:
Kooks Emission Headers for LT1 with Y-Pipe + Cats
Total Price: $1,544.63
Pacesetter:
Pacesetter LTs ceramic coated
Price: $429.69
Pacesetter Y-Pipe
Price: $129.99
Total Price: $559.68
Now, i notice kooks has different sized headers for different cars. I guess i get the cheap ones cause my car is going to be bolt ons for a while... but does that mean im going to need new headers if i do engine work?
What about the stepped headers, does that really make that big of an improvement to spend an extra grand? or should I just put that extra grand into a torque arm and just get the pacesetters?

I went with the pacesetter longtubes, ory, cat, and a hooker aerochamber muffler. The whole thing totalled around $1000 or so with installation and stuff. For the price its really hard to beat the pacesetters although the kooks from what I hear are AMAZING headers. Its really up to how much you want to spend.

If you do it right once, you won't ever have to do it again. I personally am going to buy the Pacesetters, I already have the y-pipe sitting right next to me and it's decent quality. If I have didn't have a tig welder I would have sent it back though it has one pin-hole in the welds. No biggie if you have a shop but, I feel bad for those who don't have welders and stuff.

Because they can. Think about it, they are the only company out that offers a stepped stainless header for the lt-1 with great quality. I cant wait to see this new LS1Tech sponsors set of stainless headers for the lt-1. They are claiming to be around $400-$425 shipped, for complete stainless steel longtubes.

Cats rob power. Id stay away from them if at all possible. If not, then no, longtubes will not work with stock y-pipe. If you get a header that only come with an off roady y pipe, you can get bullet style high flow cats and weld them in place.

Go Pacesetter!!! Kooks are overpriced and really don't fit well. I've used both and I'd take the Pacesetters any day. Also notice a better low end gain with the Pacesetters.
