500rwhp

Hi all.
I build 396cid with 227AFR, CR 11:1. I can not pick up correct cam, your help is necessary. Intake Edelbrock LT4, it is possible on these completing to receive 500rwhp, what will be idling? What to apply size inlectors with stoke PCM.
Thanks

you are gonna need a tune, whether you get bigger injectors or not.

Hark_Z 10-05-2007 03:56 PM

You're going to want a custom grind cam, and for 500rwhp you're going to be winding high in the RPM range no doubt.

Formula350 10-05-2007 07:22 PM

You can NOT use a stock PCM. It WILL need a tune to accommodate all of that. Injector size will probably be in the 50# area if you're not using any power adders, that is, if it is natually aspirated (not turbo, supercharger, or NOS).

I don't think he will need that high of Injectors..Just comparing this for a sec..I have 34lb's on my current setup..I know it's LSX, but the Heads I have probably flow close to if not a little more than them AFR's he has up there..and I have big Cam, and the Injectors run at 90% Duty Cycle at WOT.

No doubt it will be a custom Cam and a good Tune..

This is Camaro 93 M6. "Bank to bank" work, On the former 383 motor 30lb inj. I carried out 400rwhp with cam236/242.

What he said ^ I would think #40s should work fine.

500rwhp is possible with a stock pcm, been done through an 8" converter and auto tranny no less.

YOU are not going to reach it though.

lol i like the "YOU" in that statement. its true though. maybe it just sounds like he doesnt know what hes doing because hes trying to put everything in english.

you will need a good custom cam, atleast 1 7/8 long tubes, and a good tune. im lookin at building a 383 thats going to put out around 500rwhp. thats also a 6 speed though, and for the injectors just go with some 42s that should be more than enough and will give you room to play later on. talk to SSTROKERACE on the forum, he can hook you up with the right cam for that motor.

SSTROKERACE---- Such is not present

Hark_Z 10-06-2007 04:27 PM

Look up Bret, SStrokerAce, on cz28.com. He frequents that forum.

I'm running 42's and putting down 520rwhp N/A with a custom grind from Cam Motions designed by Alan Futral, give him a call, don't go off the shelf for your 396.

Formula350 10-07-2007 02:49 AM

BTW. Nice to see a Ruskie F-Body lover :)

divette 10-07-2007 10:32 AM

Cost Z28 Lt1 from $15000
shiping parts from the USA to Russia 10 $/kg or 5 $/ft

the_merv 10-07-2007 12:36 PM

$5/ft..who charges that...:eek2:

divette 10-07-2007 01:19 PM

Yes, Therefore there is no opportunity to return problem details.
So help to pick up accessories correctly. Where it is better to order stroker kit.

Dave J 10-07-2007 10:28 PM

500 rwhp will be tough
I was only able to get 451 out of mine
