Default Lt1 coolant lines?

Hi guys,
Im putting a lt1 in a 69 camaro and i wanted to make sure that i ran the coolant lines correct. What i did was run the steam line into a resiviour and then i tied into the upper heater hose into the bottom side of the resiviour to make a loop.

Thanks for the help guys and gals

I'm not 100% that will work, could be wrong, but this is how I'm thinking:

The steam tube has a contant flow of coolant thru it. In an F-body the return is at the top of the radiator so there is no back pressure as the return from the block is lower in the radiator, so I'd be concerned that the tank might fill / over flow if it's not free flowing. I would think the pressure from the upper hose might not let the tank drain?

Maybe you car run the line back into the waterpump using on of the other tubes that went to the oil cooler or something? Only problem with that is you would be recirculating hot collant directly into the engine and not thru the rad?

You need to "T" the hose into a heater hose or radiator hose. The reservoir will not work.

Most LT1's had upper radiator hoses with a molded in deal for the throttle body heater. You could make that work, cut that part out of the LT1 F body hose and jumper it into your upper hose.

I have one from a 93 or 94 Camaro on mine that goes into the heater hose. It is now discontinued from GM. It was aluminum and had a bleed valve on it to help bleed out air. Easy to make, I made one for a 66 Chevelle conversion. The heater hose location works very good and it is hidden better than the radiator hose. Short disctance to run ugly hoses too.
