Default Dropped my motor in today (tons of pics not dialup friendly)

Yup got a few of my buddies together and a guy that used to help me out bigtime with my car a few years ago that knows the car about as good as I do and we dropped the motor. Motor went in pretty easily without any major issues. We put it in from the top and rotated it 90 degrees with the damper toward the drivers side. Once we got it low enough we rotated it into position after removing the vacuum pump assembly and the low mount alternator.... after that it was plop it on the mounts (which gave us some issues) and we were basically done.... Finished it up (motor on the mounts) in about 2-3 hours including car prep time and had time to finish up some accessory stuff, put hoses back on, radiator, alt, and vacuum pump and did some minor fuel stuff like the return line, etc.... I'm waiting on my tranny to be finished, got some wiring stuff to handle with the painless wiring harness and finish up the fuel filler neck issue i've been handling recently... at that point i'll download the new FAST XFI version into the laptop and fire this bitch up.... enjoy the pics!

Yup, true 1LE car from the factory that came with those louvers in place of fog lights...... it's 1 of 106 built in 95.....

Dude surprisingly the headers gave us ZERO problems getting them in... I couldn't believe it either.... I think with the HVAC box gone it clears out a ton of room on the passenger side. The drivers side went in with the steering shaft removed (as I have manual steering anyways so the shaft doesn't go thru the headers like stock).... I was astonished at the ease of which they went in.... We did both headers from the bottom with the motor on the mounts...

thanks guys.

distibutor is already in... it's a low profile unit from MSD (crab cap)..... The TB is close to the cowl but i'm willing to clearance the cowl a bit to fit a small air cleaner on there...

My tranny is in the process of a check and rebuild so i'm waiting for it hence the reason I haven't put it in yet.... I have always put them in seperately....

i was thinking about swaping to a dist. myself. But to put it in and out, lets say to pull the manifold, can you pull it out in the car or do you need to pull the motor to get the dist. out?

Very sweet!

I'm new to the whole LT1 thing, I guess I didn't know anyone made a regular manifold with a dist. My Lt1 has a converted LT1 intake to a dist. If you had a crank leveler would that make the engine easier to get in? I've always wondered if I could get my distr. out without pulling the motor... I'm thinking no..
