Car won't start after cam swap

After the cam swap, we got it to start 3 times, since then, nothing. It turns over but doesn't start.

new opti
injectors spray fine
all fuses/relays good
compression good
fuel pressure good
new waterpump
new plugs and wires (plugs get sparks)

Any ideas?

check your crank sensor

crank sensor has nothing to do with it,you can dicsonnect it and the car will run fine w/ses light on.
i would check the ICM

how did it run when you did get it to start?

It ran fine! It died from a low idle all three times though, then wouldn't crank anymore. We then replaced the opti.

oil pressure? when you put the oil pump sprocket back in did you make sure not to over tighten it and crack the plastic peice? I'm pretty sure if your pcm senses no oil pressure it won't allow you to start. I'm no expert so don't quote me on any of that but it might be worth checking.

check for pcmcodes?

30thanniversaryz Nov 18, 2007 03:50 PM

After some tests, we think the PCM is fried, and we're now leaning towards an OBD1 conversion and tune from madz28.
