Default A couple cam ? for a new guy!

Ok i had posted up for a friend to get a lil info on the gm 847. This is for me i see the gm 847 specs are 234/242 .574 .595 which for a stock headed car is not good. The cc 306 specs are 230/244 .510 .540 and thats good for a stock headed car i know cuz thats what i ran in my last car on the street. My confusion is this, i seen a cam for sale with these specs 300/310 .525 .540 and i called the guy he said this is a good stock headed cam and its smaller than the gm 847 (which i want) but what makes this cam different or smaller the intake/exhaust or the duration. would a cam with those specs be good on a stock headed car. (300/310 .525 540.)

That is probably the advertised duration and not the duration at .050 inch lift.

because the advertised is always a lot bigger then when you measure them at .050. The 847 specs you are stating are measured on .050. Look up advertised on the 847 and they will be huge also.
