A few have, but with the 4L60E doing MUCH better in high HP applications I dont see the need.
Unless you have 800 rwhp in a 3800lb car...a 4L60E will do ya.
CPT(Cahall performance Transmissions) from over on Camaroz28.com has them running in the 9's in heavy cars.
I have one of his 4L60E's in a 3800lb 470RWHP Camaro...I have beat the crap out of it for 3000 miles and 25 passes at the strip. Fluid still smells new and it is FLAWLESS.
The 4L80E adds weight and sucks up horsepower over a 4L60E.
