So you parting it out? I need the driver side...just kidding...kind of..


Get a new clutch and replace the seal at the same time. You're driving a 14 year old car and you expect **** not to break? Come on now.

just replaced mine the other day. i think i would cry if i had to do it with the motor in the car. getting the old gasket off around the crank is the hard part, not to mention you have to take the oil pan off which requires redoing that gasket. luckily my motor is out so it was all out in the open, and wasnt too bad.

i never heard of needing to drop the pan to do the rear main seal! i dont think you do. maybe lt1s are different. but i doubt it. mine is leaking to. ima change it when i swap stalls.

yea thats what i thought too. the car only ran maybe a minute after the seal broke so im hoping the clutch is good

you only have to drop the pan if you're changing out the rear main seal adapter. The seal itself doesn't require you to drop the oil pan.
