Putting my 1994 Z28, LT1 back together after cam swap. Everything I read just says re-install the oil pump drive. Is there any procedure to line up the oil pump drive assembly with the slot in the oil pump. Would cranking the engine with breaker bar while pushing down on the drive automatically set the key in the oil pump slot ?

Just look down through the hole and try and get the drive lined up and drop it in, repeat till it seats.

Cranking the motor with a breaker wont do it because there is so little load on everything that they would most likely just spin together. You could try it though.

Agree just keep trying to set it in place, it is a pita, but just keep jacking with it, it will all of a sudden drop in place for you.
