CPS reluctor ??

is it necessary? what the heck does it do? (It's that weird round thing that goes on after the crank sprocket before you put the timing cover back on) I'm worried it will fall off and start bouncing around in there.

You need to keep it unless you are going to go to an OBDI computer. It is used as a pickup for the crank sensor which allows misfire diagnostics.

ya im staying obd2 but it's not going to fly off is it? seems like barely anything is holding it there and seems likely it would slip off the keyway and start spinning around... what do you think? thanks man

The hub seats against it, it wont go anywhere any more than the crank timinggear will.

Uhh.. i just realized that after looking at a blow up on shbox.com.. lol

:bang:

well this was a stupid thread:D

Yeah I kinda thought so too but didn't want to rain on the parade LOL. Figured you would soon realize.

Incase it comes up again removing the cps reluctor means you need a slightly longer hub so the belt lines up.

Far as being a stupid question, we have all made mistakes like this, missing the obvious. What makes the difference is how you handle it.
