58mm TB???? Ive just installed a CC503 with apropriate roller rockers and 918 springs, had a mild head job done, installed long tube headers, and got a PCMforless tune. It runs good but sounds like its breathing through a straw and its going to suck my airfilter flat. How much would i gain from swaping to the 58mm TB? Also what injector would go best with my setup? both are currently stock. plaining on getting a procharger.
A friend of mine went to a 58 and he lost low end because of it sucking in too much air. Go with a 52 until you get the procharger. The hp gain would be next to nothing if you did do it. Injector you would be fine going with a 30# injector

Its not the amount of air going in, its the velocity. When the TB is too large, velocity drops, so low rpm torque drops accordingly.
My opinion would be to do a port job yourself. Port match the TB to your current intake. See what you think. If you still don't think its enough, get a 52mm TB and then port match it again.
I would also advise looking at your air intake setup, it too can cause issues with not enough air flow/velocity.

You can't lose power by putting too big of a tb on, velocity at the tb are has nothing to do with lowend torque.
also, he wouldn't really need tuning as much (except maybe to set the idle) since he has a 6 speed, you really only need tuning for the 58 on autos since the shifts will be off.

Funny how every TB thread on this forum contradicts itself. One post will say 58 is overkill, another will say its fine. I think about ten people on this board really know what the hell they are talking about and the rest are following, just agreeing.
