Default not sure what to do

i know this is not a tech thread, but i posting this here because this is the only fourm i come in and wanted to hear from other LT1 owners....
ok little advice, just wondering what you would do.... i love my Z, its frickin fast, loud, and just fun to drive, but maitnence is killing me, and gas... chicago streets are killing it and killing my wallet... i just cant keep up with fixing the things that need to be fixed on it, yes its little ****, but its adding up, and i have been so broke...so i was thinking just selling it and going back to a jeep because the 4 jeeps i owned all 150k or more, ran the best and had almost no fixing at all out of the 11 cars i have owned... so basically do you think i should just get what i can for the car, get a cherokee again and just get a fast car again down road when i have a real paying job, or try to stick it out and be broke fixing and filling it up.....it would suck to get rid of it just as nice weather is going to be hitting, but i really cant decide what to do.. my original plan was to have both, but i cant afford both anymore... and its either between the Z or a jeep, no other choices

I think you would regret it. Is your Z all paid for?Jeep Cherokee's don't get that good of gas mileage especially in trafic. My car is not built like yours but I get 28mpg on the highway 20 in the city if I can stay off the gas. I say don't do it.

Do what you got to do man..**** happens like that sometimes..

I feel ya though..all that work, I couldn't sell mine like that. Even if mine were to wreck..I would part it out, use what I could, hopefully the Engine/Tranny would be good, and Wire it in to the next Beast..

If you have no real job, I can see how it would be very hard affording to drive/maintain a built stroker car especially in the city. In college it seemed at times that I could barely afford to keep a stockish LT1 car because of all that little **** that needed fixing.

Do what you gotta do. There is always another fast car you can buy down the road, but make sure you're not going to regret it first.

Being in college myself I understand what you're talking about. all the new mods i did totally raped me this winter. I wish I had never done them, the main thing is your not going to be gaining much by getting a jeep i dont think really. it's not going to be that much better on gas.. what do you get now with your 383 ?

One of my buddy's has a Grand Cherokee with the 5.9L V8, it gets about 12 mpg around town. I love Jeeps, but beware, the big motor is awful thirsty
