DTC 24 (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Well my speedometer stopped working, and now DTC 24 is showing up. Do I need to replace my Vehicle Speed Sensor or is there something I should check first? |
More than likely thats whats wrong. Check the code just to make sure b/c when mine went dead the car didnt want to idle correcly. |
that is because the pcm didnt know when to kick the idle motor on. thats kind of what i thought was wrong with my car. |

Anyone? |
Your 93 will still run fine without a speedo or the sensor working right. You can check the sensor easy on the tailshaft. |

it should have a socond wire for it to work. IF YOU LOOK INSIDE THE PLASTIC TUBE THAT SUROUNDS THE WIRE, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIND THE REST OF THE WIRE. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE THE CONNECTOR APART SO YOU CAN REPLACE THE PIN AND ADD A NEW SECTION TO THE WIRE. NEW WIRES WONT COME WITH THE CONNECTOR AND DONT CRIMP THE WIRES TOGETHER ALWAYS SOLDER THEM AND USE HEAT SHRINK TO PROTEC THE WIRE. IF YOU DONT WANT TO GO THAT ROUTE THE GO TO A JUNK YARD AND CUT THE SECTION THAT YOU NEED. SORRY FOR THE DELAYS. LET ME KNOW IF THIS HELPS. |
A guy on here provided this site to someone else looking for a special connector, a replacement VSS pigtail is pretty reasonable $ if yours is unrepairable: eficonnection.com |

Wow thanks for that link. I have a bad VSS and I was going to get one from the dealership for like 80 bucks or something. But which one would I get with my T56. It's not the same is it? Hopefully it was the right one, I should have asked first. :bang: |
