AWESOME RESULTS DUDE. cant wait to see some track times out of that animal. care to divulge the rest of the combo?

E85 wont harm the fuel system of todays cars. the auto makers have to make the fuel systems deal with alchohol due to some states having some amount (15% maybe?) alchohol in all there gas. california is one. forgot what they call it. fuel systems of the 80's and older, yes. it'll dry rot the poop out of it.
Ive seen too many of these post's where someone tuned there car for gas, then turned around same day and tuned for E85 and always a decent gain to believe "gas makes more power". and it is a renewable resource. eventually the farm equipment that it takes to grow and harvest the corn will run itself on E85. it'll just take some time for that to start expanding to that area. also, dont forget they can make E85 with alot of diff things its just corn they use right now cause it was so plentiful and easy to grow.
and the best thing about it is we're not spending all this coin overseas. its being reinvested right here in the good old USA.

You do realize how old this post is? Here's another combo which claimed outrageous dyno numbers and nary a track result:

good thing its an old thread too, this thread has so much fail in it, i dont know what to say. If you dont work in the fuel or ethanol industry, please dont talk about the bullshit hearsay on E85, because you dont know a damn thing about it. Please, spare me, i work in the ethanol industry along with my dad developing different things and ethanol is more economical to produce, and uses less water than oil. Yes we can make it out of biomass, and that is what we are working on. It takes time to set up the infrastructure to attian and use the biomass, it is a dedicated system. Now to use corn, any farmer can just truck it in, thats why it is used, easy and cheap.
BTW, on my boosted LS1, i picked up almost 100whp by switching to e85, and i ran out of fuel system or it would have made more. And once my new LTx turbo setup is done this spring, i may go that route again.

um, nothing. There is no need to upgrade anything but changing your fuel filter a few times to run e85. I had replaced everything as it was in my 87 GN, so i had a new tank/alum 1/2 lines, and new hoses. but i have run it in stuff from a 79 mustang and up and have NEVER had a 1 single problem with rubber or seals, that is complete bullshit about them drying out. Hose is a maintinence item and should be replaced periodically and most people with problems are too stupid to realize this

Finally someone tells it like it is! I'm sick of hearing all the naysayers talk down about **** they don't know a damn about. Half the reason people don't know/like E85 is cuz of the dumbshit people that start rumors from thin air!

How does your LT1 run now? I have went to the track , but the car is not a drag car. I have 17 inch rims on all 4 corners. The weight of the car is 4100+ with me in the car. The car went on E85 on motor 12.1-12.2@114-116 with a 2.0-2.2 60 foot. I tried the 150 jets out on E85 and ran a 11.80@127mph with a 2.0 60 foot with the junk spec clutch slipping. The car runs real strong for stock bottom end i am happy. Can the car go faster with the correct setup? YES. But i could care less about the drag strip times . For the record i have been running on E85 for over 1 year now with no problems.

Thanks Chris

Something smells funny. You are claiming your f-body weighs what a b-body does. Best I can find is a Z28 convertible has a Curb Weight of under 3700lbs with the automatic, just under 3600 with the manual.

IMO the problem here is the dyno itself. One popular engine builder uses a dyno by the same company and his engine dyno results are always very high compared to the RWHP results guys have once the engines are installed. Just a happy dyno.

Car runs well, just not in line with the inflated dyno numbers.

Faster than 116mph. According to your post on cz28.com it would appear you are still butt hurt over me clowning Overton, and 4100lbs? Wow.. that's 350lbs more than Gary's 452rwhp street stock vert. What gives?

4100 is possible.... 3700lbs car, 200lbs+ guy, heavy aftermarket wheels and a tank of gas.

And a 2.0-2.2 60ft is not very good for maxing time/speed at the track.

Last time I weighed my 96 Caprice sedan it was 4320 with 17" wheels some stuff in the trunk and me in the car.

Over the years in the course of modification I have taken some weight out, single biggest thing being the swap to aluminum heads, next probably being the 9.5" converter. ABS/AC etc. all intact as are the steel bumpers and such.

The 17" wheels I have are stock Impala wheels 29lbs without the z-rated rubber, with the 255/50ZR17 Kuhmos they are around 60lbs apiece.

Car has 12-way power seats, power anteana, not stripped.
This put the 4100lbs number into perspective??

He has a M6 so curb weight was just under 3600lbs.

Base Curb on my Caprice is 4060.

4100lbs is ridiculous for an f-body, convertible or not. My friends 94Z convertible fully loaded weighs just around 3800 with him in it. Something doesn't add up here. Maybe you forgot to unhook a boat or something.

Nothing would make me happier to be proven wrong, though.
