Default Suncoast Predator hood

This is a question for anyone that has a Suncoast Predator hood.
When installing the hood, did you have to modify the hinges to bolt the hood on? Did you have to modify the front nose to get get it to line up vertically?

Somebody else must have purchased this hood.
Here's a pic of how the front of the hood lines up.

And here's a pic of how much I have to shim/raise the hood to get it to line up at the back.

I've seen a lot of guys with aftermarket fiberglass/carbon fiber hoods out here, and NONE of them fit like OEM.

Yeah, I know that fiberglass hoods don't fit like OEMs. And there is a couple of things I can do to get it to fit better like slotting out the holes in the hinge brackets and shimming up the front nose to match the hood. I just don't want to start making changes to the body lines on my car if this hood was molded wrong to begin with. I'm hoping someone who has one of these hoods will chime in how it fit for them.

And this is why I am afraid to get an aftermarket hood. Compared to how many are sold, to how many fit right, is way out of proportion. Take the cost of the hood, add in the fitting of said hood, add prep and paint, and you could easily hit a thousand bucks.

Mine needed a little extra shimming on the hinge bolts but nothing like that. The front edge lined up just fine. I'd say that's a horrible mold. Let us know if they get you taken care of and the results.

Just check out the aftermarket fiberglass, and carbon fiber hoods at the next car show you attend... Many are not as good as they seem when you're shopping online.
