For a stock shortblock I wouldn't go bigger than a CC306, but stock shortblock or fully forged a custom is always going to give you the best results

AI has some killer heads for sure. They would probably be my top consideration if I were in the market for a new set of heads.

Depends on what your budget is. More inches will make more horsepower and torque. Any will run on nitrous.

You do not have the budget to do this right so don't even try.

Notice the 11.4 compression is with 64cc heads, LT1 aluminum heads are a LOT smaller and this is going to jack compression to close to 13:1

You seem to think displacement is key, another reason to STOP and not start this project at this time because you not only lack the funds but the knowledge and you will endup spending a lot and getting little for it.

I have this cam, just got it installed, fired it up and the push rods fell out...
Im thinking that stock length push rods are a no go.. Dropped it off at my buddies shop, they have adjusted and re-adjusted the roller rockers 4 times and still the rods fall out.

It was suggested that he use a push rod lenth checker to determine what the correct length is, now that we know there is an issue.
Waiting to see how this thing runs..

Comp 985 springs, new locks and retainers, comp cams chromoly magnum 1.6ratio roller rockers on a set of ported and polished stock heads..
Bottom end is a forged 383ci that spun easily to 6500 on the last cc305 cam, though it seemed to run out of breath around 5k.

Time will tell whether this cam works well with what I got... I just wish I could drive it.
