If the non-run method worked so well then why is there a bunch of posts in this thread where people have it all wrong?? not to mention what if you arent exactly at the top of the stroke while your spinning the engine around? if you trying to get as close to 0 lash you could end up over or under shooting it and have either a loose or tight rocker.... if you dont care then sure crank it down to a full turn.....

Easiest way I have found was to use the EVO IVC. As far as preload, factory specs are 1 full turn +/- 1/4 turn, so anywhere between 3/4 and 1 1/4 should be fine. With that said most people run about a 1/2 when using stock lifters.
