Default Had somethind weird happen last night....

I was rolling about 20mph in 2nd gear. Stomped it, it shifted back down to 1st, then to 2nd with a God awful BOOM,BANG...scared the fawk outta me. The whole car felt like it came off the ground 2 feet! I pulled my feet off the floor as high as I could thinking parts were about to come in the car with me!

After that I ran it hard 3-4 times, shifts fine, fluid is fine. I does "SEEM" to shifter firmer into 2nd and 3rd under full throttle now, will bark the 325 50's HARD on the street.

All I can think of is the Detroit Locker didnt have its "slack" taken up and when it shifted it took up the slack and locked..... and sent the shockwave through the car.

Any ideas?

I would agree about the trans mount, I broke one and it felt like that too, but then again I was able to feel it with continued testing. It could have been the locker, I have never run one so I wouldn't know how that feels...

Damn..how did you do that?
I blew mine up about a month ago, it downshifted from 3rd to 2nd, bounced off the rev limiter cause the tires were spinning, and a snap ring came out causing me to lose 3rd and 4th, and then eventually everything as I was getting it back to the shop.
I was out test-driving it breaking in my new Moser 9"..didn't even get 100 miles on it, and the car sits until Feb..
But it's getting a T56..

As the late, great NASCAR hero Banjo Matthews was quoted as saying, "Speed cost money....HOW FAST YOU WANNA' GO??"
