Antifreeze problem's again

Well about a month ago my car's light came on i filled it up up and now here i am agian. The overflow is empty again, the radiator itself look's kinda low. I've checked the oil it's good not milky no sign of anti freeze in it. It's possible it could be leaking into the cylinder's but i let it set since i came home which was at least 10hrs started it up no smoke, what else is there anybody, something i missed to check. one more thing my pcv hose i lost it how bad is it to just leave it of and let the hole stick out it hasn't shot any oil out of it

Check the oil filler cap/tube or if you have a breather. Look for even tiny signs of milkiness. I had same problem. No oil in coolant, no coolant in oil, no smoke, etc.. But i was losing coolant al the time. Pulled the heads, headgaskets were fine, but headbolts didnt have sealant so it was leaking through the headbolts. Goodluck

also my oil pressure is still good and my tempature hasn't overheated

do you keep filling the coolant? if so, you're probably not letting it get low enough to ever overheat. you are having the same symptoms i am.. sorry to tell ya lol.. well look for any visible leaks with hoses, etc.

Did you pressurize the cooling system?

Kmaroman Jul 16, 2008 12:46 PM

How can i do that. I lost my first 350 to an internal leak. I hope to god this one won't go either. When this first happen about a month ago i took the overflow out to make sure it didn't have crack's and it had some really nasty blackish antifreeze. I cleaned it out and refilled it but the radiator itself was still you know good green antifreeze. service light came onlast night i'll go get the code for that later

how can i pressurize the cooling system lt1 dan tell me

LT1-DAN Jul 16, 2008 01:11 PM

You can rent the tool at some auto parts stores, Advance, Autozone, ect. It fits on your radiator in place of the cap and you pump it up and see if it holds pressure, if it doesn't hold pressure you should see coolant leaking if you have a leak somewhere.

If it's leaking internally how would i know. I take you pump it to 18 since that's what the cap hold's wright. I had a guy at autozone say it might be the heater core what do you guy's think i can't smell any antifreeze

Do you see any visible leaks? Get the system pressurized and see if it holds of not. Doesn't really matter because if it's a headbolt leak like mine, it will hold pressure fine, but only leaks when driven (when engine is hot and metal EXPANDS)
