Default Newer GTOs, how fast are they?

The reason i asked is, i got in a race with one coming home from the track (he was racing there too), we went from a small roll, i've got bolt-ons, M6, 4.11s in my 9", he was right at my bumper untill he got in the next lane, then he was only able to pull to the rear quarter, but barely, we let off at around 115+, damn curve came up i forgot about . I'm sure he was fairly stock, but i don't know, i know it did have exhaust.

Well, when I had my old LT1 car, it had just a cutout, FIPK, and Nitto dr's, and I would pull a couple cars on the LS1 GTOs. My Z/28 was pretty light though, being a hardtop, optionless car with a little weight reduction. Never got to run an LS2 one, but I'm sure the LS2 GTOs would have pulled on me.

The LS1 GTOs (04s) run about a 13.6-13.9 usually @ around 105-6mph, the 05-06 cars run 13.0-13.2's @ 108-110mph. They are stout competitors!

I'm sure he saw me running mid 14s that day (driver/tire error), then i guess we left the track at the same, he was behind me on the back roads, then he reved it as we got on the highway, so i hammered it down, i'm not sure what he ran that day or what year it was, so for me having 4.11s & he couldn't pull me (that much with me being in 6th.gear) makes me feel good.

I raced my dads 2005 6.0 six speed goat from a dig and we where door to door to about 100 and i let off cuz we were on a crapy road. I spun through second and he hooked im on a new tires damint if i had a drag radial. i would of beat him but not by much. From a 40 roll he would pull because it loves top end. My mods are LT4 cam heads intake and a catback and 4.10s he is stock.

I raced an LS1 auto the other night. He had cai, bigger tb, catback, and a programmer. Both, from a 15 roll and a dig, he was at my door till a little after 100. Then, he'd creep up and we'd be even at 120. Then, I'd let off because I didn't want to bother shifting into 5th. I knew he'd have me on the topend anyways. The cutout was capped in both runs though because I couldn't get the damn wingnuts off.

My buddy has an 06 6.0 ls2 with headers, a cold air intake and a dyno tune. My mods are in sig. He takes both my lt1's by a LOT when we race. I have him till third gear, then he just blows me away. Both are auto.

People act like they get some huge advantage on the street by opening their cutouts LOL

Opening my cutout right after the y-pipe merge would probably make a significant amount of power over my stock i-pipe to a chokemaster 80 series. Oh well, this whole exhaust system will be gone by next week anyways.

Same here, my exhaust flow awesome till the axle, then I have that damn blowmaster.

Opening my cutout helps throttle response and noise pollution.

Yeah, what he said.

My little bro's 100% stock (not even a K&N) 04 LS1 M6 ran 13.8's all day long - hot lapped, cooled for 1/2 an hour - it did not matter.

Oh, if he left the traction control ON (in error), then ET's increased to 14.1...

I am still on phase 1 of the build. I am waiting for funds to build the forged 408 and then I will crank up the boost ($15k for motor and all supporting drivetrain LOL). Yes my nitrous is still hooked up but I dont use it for safety reasons. I have the turbos turned down to 10-11lbs I am currently at 650rwhp (a ticking timebomb on stock bottom) I am still running IRS and probably will always as this is not a Drag car but more a hwy racer. I am looking at going to the Salt Flats or the Texas Mile in the next year or so for a top end run. I run in the 10s but that is due to limiting factors that I already mentioned and have no desire to change.

All in all when I am finished in 6mo-1yr I should be 1000rwhp (19-20psi)with at least a 250 shot on top.

THE GTO is a heavy behemoth, that's one of it's biggest issues. Stock LT1's in this area range from 8.90-9.20 eigth mile depending on drivers. A lil weight reduction in an LT1 CAR GOES A LONG WAY! Look at 5.0's, they didn't have a ton of power but there have been some accounts of 5 spd coupes running bottom 13's back in the day.

I'd also have to agree that the LS2 GOAT is the contender on the street more so than the LS1 goat, not that it's a turd or anything, they like even the mildest of mods!

My car runs a 9.0 with just gears and a muffler. Hopefully here next week the 150 shot will make a difference.

My dad has gone 13.7 @ 104 mph in his stock 2004 GTO, so your race sounds about right.
