Default lt1/lt4

A buddy of mine is looking into a lt1/lt4 short block that a local guy is selling. It is 40 over and it is a 4 bolt mian. Is 40 over to much for a street car. How can i tell if it is a lt4 block? He got some numbers off of it. 10125327 is on the front passenger side of the block and on the back of the block it has vd126000. The guy selling it doesnt know much about the internals bc he bought it as a parts car from someone else. Is it worth a couple hundred bucks.

i was looking at the same one little to far for me though sorry that im not the engine expert, but beleive it should be worth the $200 he is asking

.040 over is not much at all. I always go 0.030 over on any motor I rebuild.

Just look at the block, you can tell it is a 4-bolt when it has 4 bolts holding on each main cap.

I just payed 175 for a stock LT1 shortblock so 200 for a 4 bolt main shortblock is a steal.

its in the texas class. it is a 4 bolt has pics of the crank
