opti's optical sensor

is there anyway to unplug and clean the optical sensor off. I do believe that my radiator's busted hose leaked wright into it

the optical sensor is a electronic unit inside of the optispark, you can wipe it off but if its internally damaged u cant fix it, make sure u put it back together right, im sure u dont wanna have to pull the front of ur motor apart twice.

son of a bitch when pulling an opti of what all has to come off step by step that is

To get to the opti you have to:
Pull ALL intake ducting
MAF
(some pull the fans and some don't. I do since it is easier)
6 bolts on waterpump (drain as much as you can before pulling the pump)
pull off pulley
8 plug wires
3 bolts on opti itself
opti pulls right out but you need an inverse torx bit to get the actual opti apart.

you can take your throttle body plate bolt and turn it upside down and use a pair of locking vise-grip style pliers to get them off, thats what i did but do yourself a favor and order new bolts cause it will marr it up, i has soem left from the throttle botty plate i ordered.

You can not clean it anyway. It uses a paper filiment to reflect the light. Once it gets wet, like all paper, its never the same.
