since they are replacement for the stock lt1 lifters, they wouldn't be much difference in size then? I've seen in a couple forums where they weren't the same size. I'm going to replace the ones in the spare motor as I'm not sure how many miles were on it. Just going with what Lloyd suggested to complete the valvetrain. Sorry if I'm over analyzing every aspect of this build as I just want to get it right the first time around. It frustrates me when I skimp on something and pay for it later. Thanks. Love this forum, everyone's so helpful. Other forums don't help me any.

Mine put down 400rwhp on a 20" rim with no muffler lol... Watch those beehive valve springs though. Broke one on each head before my crank snapped.

There is only one very minor difference in the LT1 & LS7 lifter. The cup (where the pushrod sits) is about .010" deeper in the lifter cylinder on the LS7 lifter. They did this to get more "meat" above the retainer clip to beef it up under harder usage. Everything else down to the check valves, pistons, disk, roller etc is the same.

Amen here. I am using the Patriot extremes which are about 20# more stout than the golds. Beehives IMHO are **** on LT1 due to the heavier 11/32" valve mass. They are great on 9mm LS1 valves.

Hmm....Thats food for thought, never even thought about valve mass. I just knew the patriots were stouter and a few people had problems with the beehives, Didnt think it was just a LTX problem.
Didnt you have the beehives and were having some probs with valve float?
