How does the LT1 stack up against a 4.6 modular mustang 99+? (1.1 liter diffrence) 15 hp diffrence, their ligher too I think. How many have had an 'encounter' with one?

Stock for Stock a 2005+ mustang is along the same table with an LT1. And that about what 8 years after LT1 probuction ended.

Thats a 08 I'm lined up against with a stage 2 Roush supercharger and exhaust..pretty fast with them chargers on. They take a while to spool up off the line but when they do they got some get up and got me for a short bit. Top end though we got em..

Stock one though...POOP. They are weak.

Ive raced many with similar bolt-on's, they had no chance in hell.

Those cars are weak. I even go back and fourth with my buddy's 03 Mach 1.

OMG, im sorry guys but this is just terrible. Okay, a real perspective on mustang GTs vs F-bodies
LT1 vs 94-98 GT = LT1 wins by A LOT
LT1 vs 99-04 GT = Drivers Race, either one can win
LT1 vs 05+ GT = GT will win
LS1 vs 05+ GT = LS1 usually but close enough that can go either way
Average 1/4 mile times
LT1 = 14.0
LS1 = 13.2
94-98 GT = 14.8
99-04 GT = 14.0
05+ = 13.5

EDIT: These are all stock times of course

Sorry but an LT1 vs 99-04 GT is NOT a drivers race. Screw what each one is rated on paper and on the internet, they get stomped by LT1s in the real world.

05+ is a much better race, and I would consider that a drivers race.

They are pretty sad all across the rev range. I have taken my fair share down even with my old bolt on TPI. The Mach 1's aren't anything great either. I had one barely pull away from my auto LT1 from a roll. If I had my current Z with the T56 it would have been a draw.

I used to drive a 97 non-pi mustang gt. All that was done to it was o/r x-pipe and catback exhaust...with a 75-shot i stayed right next to a lt1 camaro with longtubes and ported heads

So no cam with the ported heads?? Who does that...lol. The 97 is weak and I would be surprised to see one hang with a bolt on LT1 even with the Stang spraying...but who knows. W/O the juice it would have got lit up like the 4th of July!

Saw an 06 at the track that was running mid 14.s at about 100mph with a few bolt ons(intakes exhaust etc.) there also was and 04 with some bolt ons and 4.10s. he was running mid 14.s also, but was trapping about 98mph . Im a 96 Formula WS6 M6 stock with a cat back went 13.90 at 101.5. My best Mph was 102
All of us were on street tires

lol My STOCK 91 TPI, w/ only a 58mm TB (stock intake setup, only mod was I cut the air 'can' way open for more air), AFPR, a tune by ME (my first tune ever) , cat-back and a built trans. I beat many 4.6 mustangs. This was before the new body style, so I can't say on them.

Even if you did have a video it still wouldn't hold true to every scenario or application so I wouldn't bother. The only point that holds true is, the average LT1 is going to smoke a Mustang any day of the week

This just happened an hour ago. A bubby of mine who has an 07 mustang with CAI, LT's, ORX, flowcrappers, and a tune, 5spd car. We went to eat and Project Cheap A** LT1 off the spray pulled him by 1 car from a dead stop little shy of a quarter (maybe 10-15ft). LT1 pulled away hard 1st and 2nd gear buy 3 cars. But the trans just doesnt pull hard in 3rd for some reason. So the mustang did catch up but only 1 car length and stop catching. So there. And if any of you dont know about Project Cheap A** LT1:
94Z
181,xxx miles
A4 built 4l65e factory stall
3.42's
52mm tb
shorty headers
ORY
Hooker catback
My special TunerCat tune.

Does have nitrous and stand alone fuel but relay is bad so there was no chance of spray until its fixed.

I mean I have less than $3000 in the car with the mods, and it just took an 07 Mustang. Cost for cost, mod for mod LT1 > 05+mustang
