Question Info. on Spec Stage 4+ please

Noticed Spec now has a Spec Stage 4+ and was wondering what the trq and hp rating was on it.

Also, is anyone using this yet? If so please give me some feedback on your likes and dislikes with it.

How will this compare to the Spec Stage 3+ in performance and streetability?

If its made out of the same material as the 4 its not going to be very streetable compared to the 3+.

I plan on running one with 600+ at the wheels. I have driven one in a vette without the springs and it feels really good, it does grab hard and has stood up to everything they have thrown at it. They are in the middle of a 402 build now so we will see. I used to run a single tex and the thing would slip on the dyno after a couple hundred miles?? I was very dissapointed in that. I was going to run a Tex dual setup but have guys having problems with those slipping as well with n/a low miles cars.

How much power? Looks like a head/cam car only by your sig. I would hope you would not slip a dual setup.

Spec is a great clutch if you know how to use them. Spoke to a Spec engineer a couple of weeks ago and he gave me some helpful info. Couple of things most do that will eat a disc up. Burnout without a line lock is a no no due to the fact you are still slipping the clutch while doing this and the dry hop after the burnout is not good either. These are a couple of factors he gave me about his product fwiw.

im only at 455 hp. I went through 3 spec 3's only pushing 380 rwhp. So yeah im not going to burn through this clutch but it holds just like i need it to. If the spec 3 cant hold up to 380 hp theres no reason for me to buy another one and see if it can hold up to 455hp.

I'd be curious to know how many Specs they have owned to come to that conclusion, and if they did the install. Spec probably sells more LS clutches than all the other mfrs combined.

That being said, Jeremy sold me a 3+ with a springless hub in the disc. I've only got 150 miles on it, so it's not broken in yet. I do like the pedal feel though.

This is my third Spec. I had a Stage 2 that went over 40,000 miles and was still going strong with MT DR's and 420 RWHP. I replaced it with a stage 5when I did a 408 iron block. The stage 5 really grabbed, but it wasn't street freindly, I switched to the 3+

I would deffinately choose this clutch. I had a SPEC 3+ in my TA, and then drove Nicks Vette at the track with the 4+(the car 03 Busa is referring to). I believe the 4+ is more streetable than my 3+ was and it holds anything we threw at it. 7000 RPM clutch dumps on slicks with 1.51 60ft and has around 60 passes at the track like this. Hasnt missed a beat.

Ive owned 3. i paid a mechanic to install 2 of them and i installed the 3rd.
At the time they were cheap to buy but the labor is kind of a bit. So the third time i installed it myself. When i purchased the tex and installed it sometime ago i havent had problems since.

My friend runs a spec stage 4+ behind a 650 rwhp sp2.2 headed 427 sbc stoker. Motor is in a 1995 Camaro that weighs 3200 lbs. He lanches at 7000 rpm and runs 10.30 at 133

I run a spec 3+ behind a Vengenace Racing 440 ls7 in 2002 trans am. My car weight is 3500 lbs and I live at 4700 rpm.

We both love them and don`t have any problems.
Breakin is key to a spec clutch lasting.

Did you guys install these?, was it done correctly? my guess by your quick, no backup havin answer is no, they were not. Or they were not broke in properly, or they were torn up by the operator.....etc, etc, etc.
