Default T56 issues! (did a search too!)

I purchased a modded 98' Z last year. I had the tranny rebuilt using D&D's kit, used a 0z-700 Textralia clutch, and new GM slave/master (15046288/12570277 with drill mod). From the first day, the car did not like to shift/go into gear when it was cold....Easy fix...let it warm up. As of now, the car refuses to go into 5/6/R on first start, and when it's placed in 1/2/3/4 it tries to roll. I bled the system two days in a row with no luck. As stated, it's fine when the car/tranny warms up. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!

The 2 likely issues are either air or the master. Yes I know it's new.
Search thru here & look at the different methods for bleeding. I would have to go with that first choice as the culprit. Hows the pedal when it is occuring? More freeplay?

The stock hydraulic system (even when new) doesn't like the Textralia clutches - we have multiple Textralia cars come through here with disengagement issues like you describe. We fix them using our Adjustable Master Cylinder Kit.

If bleeding doesn't fix your issue, look at upgrading: http://www.tick-performance.com/cata...ne/#hydraulics

The pedal engages at a normal height, and feels firm. I think if I had another quarter to half inch beyond the floor it would disengage completely. This issue has gotten worse with time when it's cold.

I would agree then in your case that an adjustable master would be a wise upgrade.
It will likely cure all your problems.

Wrencher....What would cause to slow decline in my factory master? It has worked great until a week ago. I agree that an adjustable master would solve it, but would like to know why now...

It is more likely a tough pressure plate that is causing it.
That & depending upon how it's bled can have an effect on master cylinder wear too.
I have had all kinds of weird problems over the years w/ plastic master cylinders from different manufactures.
