Default Not using the clutch to shift bad?

I was with a good friend letting him drive, my car. well anyways he told me about not using the clutch i was skeptical. Till he showed me, you gotta easy off the gas an pull back on the shifter very lightly. The gears dont grind or anything. I thought you could only do it in big trucks semi's an such. But it worked fine in my car, will this affect clutch wear or increase stress on parts. It was very easy to do, i could do it without grinding gears

will not increase your clutch wear (as you will use it less) but will cause more impact and stress on your synchros and sliders... i wouldn't do it i prefer to use my clutch (reason why it was made)than to end up having ot do a rebuild on the tranny again

just cause you don't hear the extra stress it causes the tranny doesn't mean it's not happening.
