Default Help me pick a clutch for my setup (LT1 T56)

My setup should put me around 400 RWHP or hopefully more. I'm seriously considering just buying a Mcleod ST with billet steel flywheel but not sure if it's overkill. I also am considering maybe a spec 2 or so but I've heard alot of mixed feelings about spec clutches. So guys help me out on what would be streetable but that's also going to be able to handle some hard launches. Thanks guys for the input.

You can't go wrong with the Street Twin. I used it and it drives like a stocker but hooks hard. You will find any weak parts behind it very fast if you drive hard. Mine tweaked my stock 10 bolt the first time I made a hard shift into third.

When it comes to the LT1, your options are limited. Most aftermarket clutch companies simply use a stock pressure plate with a different disc. The most heavy duty single disc you can use is a ceramic/metallic 6-puck. Of course this type of disc generates more heat so it can be hard on the stock cast flywheel. The best option would be to go to the Street Twin. But if you want to go the cheaper route, I can sell you a cera-metallic disc for $150.

By the way, I see you are in DFW. If you want to come look at the disc or need any installation work, just let me know.

Hmmm...sounds interesting. Can a few more people chime in who have similer power numbers?
