I did it on my car. I had all kinds of problems burning up input and clusters last year and rpm got me set up for a pump and their trans has been flawless for me all year with over 100 passes and many being in the 9 sec zone.

The pump works perfect. I wouldn't run a high hp T56 without one.

I went 8.85 at 153, NO trans pump, about 60 passes on motor running 9.70's, and about 15 passes on spray.

Tick built T56, faceplated, rem polished, cryo treated viper shaft. and I run amsoil trans fluid. Car weight is 3200lbs.

1/4 mile passes aren't too hard on the trans, its 150+ mph pulls on the interstate that causes problems with the input shaft gear and cluster gear.

Id love to hear how you figure that to be true. Your gonna get alot more fluid slosh in 1st and 2nd gear where the car is pulling much harder. And a 1/4 mile pass last longer than a 50-150. 0-143 is definatly gonna be harder on it. Or 0-153 in charlies case

Charlie, Have you pulled the trans apart at all this year and checked the input and cluster for excessive heat? It's been awesome to see it run all year without an issue. That Amsoil seems to be working really well for you.

WTFever you all think. I broke my T56 on the interstate twice from hard 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear pulls and NEVER AT THE DRAG STRIP before putting the pump on.

doing 150 pulls on the street is stupid. Keep it at the track. I would think dragging the bumper and pulling wheelie's would cause more fluid slosh than some street pulls.

Jermery, No trans has not been taken apart yet. I plan on sending it to Johnathon in a few weeks for him to inspect and see if there is anything to learn from. Beyond that I am unsure whats going to happen with the car. Cant decide what to do, but thats a whole other story.

Its been very fun getting this T56 down the track. If I could just flat foot shift it the way I really want to that would be nice, but I dont think the Sof Loc is really ment to be used with a clutch assisted trans.... So maybe its a G-Force 5 speed? or just sell motor and trans and build something to take down the Preston's? with a tricked out auto?

No I don't have a complete parts list. I had the trans totally apart and set the main case on the front plate of the trans with the input shaft in it. I already had the hole drilled in the side of the case. I just used a regular tube that went through the bulkhead fitting and bent it until it sprayed between the input shaft gear and the counter shaft gear. It's all pretty simple...just buy the pump, filter, an fitting, and line and start putting it all together. I got the an fittings and line from summit racing.

Ok guys I am doing this too and sent many PM's to Speedracer and he was a great help. I bought all my fittings off Jegs and still awaiting a reply from RB Racing about the oil pump.

I went off Speedracer's pictures for the routing. The oil feed will come from the drain plug by a 3/8 NPT male to -8an male union, into a 180 degree hose end fitting, through -8an hose from the passenger side to driver side of trans, into a 90 degree hose end fitting directly into the -8an inlet side of the pump, through the pump and out the single -8an hose fitting, up the driver side of -8an hose, into another 90 degree hose end fitting and through the bulkhead fitting. I will also be jamming a piece of angled pipe in there as Speedracer did on his to direct the spray of oil where I need it. I am wanting to use the filter offered by RB Racing as well so I'm still awaiting the size inlet the filter is to make any changes to my fittings as necessary.

Here is my parts list:

Let me know what you guys think. I won't be actually installing everything for another 3-4 months until I return from deployment.

Ok well for anyone following this and interested in getting the oil pump from RB Racing, they just randomly took $382.xx out of my account today without discussing it with me. What you do is send an order form over there website and they "say they will contact you to discuss it further" Well I didn't receive any contact before the charge so we will see what shows up I guess. I am deployed right now so no I can't call don't suggest it.

That is a diaphragm pump which will work but I chose a gear driven put because I felt it would last longer without chance of failure.
