Default LS6 Vs. LS7 Clutch

What is the difference in the LS6 & LS7 clutch kits for a LS1 engine? Is one clutch suppose to be better than the other?

LS7 clutch is designed to hold 100hp mroe an way more torque in the factory use of the cars (LS7 505hp > LS6 405/385hp). So there you go. LS7 clutch has a bigger diameter I think so way more holding force.

Well, that answers my question. I went with the LS6 since my car is a 320 HP completely stock SS.

I just bought an LS7 for my car. I have gone through 2 LS6 clutches, both lasted about 60k each. Cant wait to see how much better this LS7 is gonna be.

My car is a 1998 with 32,000 miles. They were going to re-install a stock clutch for the 98 model year and I decided to step it up one notch with the LS6. The slave cylinder is what actually went out, so I decided to update everything since the trans had to come out anyway. The flywheel had hot spots and the clutch had about 30% left.
