clutch bleeding - bad slave ?

clutch bleeding - bad slave ? So, time to look at the camaro again - last sunday i had cleaned the garage and mopped up all of the spilled fluids etc. I notice a small puddle of fluid bellow the trans and the fluid level in the master is lower than before. Looks like it may have been leaking slowly.
I took the line off of the slave, and the pedal is firm - master is good and bled. Plug it in and it is soft, starting to get some pressure at the floor.
I may bleed some more, but this new slave may be bad.
New slave, GM part, was empty of fluid (ie no dead heading).
measured gap at 0.29in following shim rules.
Won't disengage fully, acting like it is not bled.
any thoughts?
