Default 4th gear grind/scratch..just want some backup

i did a little bit of searching, since it kinda works now, and it seems like alot of people have the same problem when...
A.) the tranny (fluid) is cold/thick
B.) the weather is cold

my problem tends to be the 1st option, since its happened in pretty hot weather. if i shift slow, it doesnt do it, but the faster i shift/higher rpm, it happens, but it still lets me in gear fine. this is obviously until the tranny warms up and then everythings fine. what im really asking is just to make sure this sounds like the typical 4th gear problem solved by buying dex 3 fluid? (i believe thats what it was called). just bought the about a week ago so cant speak to the history of fluids used. just wanted some back up before i go up to the store. sound like the usual or what?

Default

If your car is truely bone stock , it has an aluminum 3/4 shift fork. It is a well known problem. You most likely have a worn fork.An iron fork is available.
