M6 won't shift into reverse every time

I have a 99SS M6 with 29,000 miles. It runs and shifts smooth. Sometimes when I shft to reverse it winds up and screechs a little and doesnt quite go into gear. I put back in neutral and then I can go back into reverse no problem. I don't even have to rock it or anything just put it neutral then back into reverse and I am fine. Any ideas? Thanks

With mine it's easier just to pop it into second real quick then to reverse. If I try to go straight to reverse it will fight me all the way.

Could be the Synchro hanging up a little bit..

Yup, it's brass.

Here is a pic..you can see the outer edge of it right below the Reverse Gear and above the Slider.

Mine has done exactly that since the day I bought it brand new in 2002.

I have no idea why, or when...it's just hassle i've lived with - one day I'd like to actually know and fix the issue though! So here is a bump.
