I drive my car mostly on weekends and nice day like today, Im on the hiway rowing thru the gears, 4k-5k shifts. so on one good stretch, i slow down to
3rd, 7k, 4th, 7k 5th. no probs.
then i go for it again, slow back down to 3rd, 7k again, and then bam!
sounds like metallic grinding sound. and it spits out the 4th gear. so i try to go back in 4th, it shifts, but spits back out again, rpm is low, no throttle.
and once i drop to lower speed it shifts normal again. it doesnt do it during normal driving, just under hard acceleration. there is no whining, or gear grinding under normal driving. clutch is spec3+ with 02' hydros.
are those the symptoms of damaged gears, i always take to around 7k when im going thru the gears on wot. in 3yrs. have not had probs. with the trans til today. even hard launches on dr, no probs. stock t56, perhaps its on its way. out. but i dont really drive everyday. i am hard on it, but i havent missed any shifts with it to date. im thinking its my clutch is going out.
400+rw has prolly taken its toll, the clutch has around 6k miles.
opinions or diagnoses?
i hope its not the dam shift fork or something else inside

So it only does it under hard throttle? Sounds like the syncro could be giving early signs of failure and you probably are going to need the typical upgrade stuff regarding 3-4 gears.

the engine is around 490rw with this trans, before this clutch i had centerforce. and seems like it use to grip harder,
this clutch has always felt like it slips, and its doing more so now.
after more driving, it now does it at low rpm also

takes about 2-3 trys to get it to catch.
Hey Neme, give me a call tomorrow, my phone is all kind of jacked up, got to get a new one.
You either have a synchro/key/fork issue. Either way, time to open her up....might need to put a TB on it as well....
