Default Effects of Capping Vent Tube on T56

What are the effects that capping the vent tube location could have for short term and long term. This car get's driven every day btw but I had a good size leak from the vent tube so we temporarily capped it. Has anyone gone a long time with a capped vent tube? Please share your experience.

My guess is that it's function is to relieve pressure as the temp increases.

Likely result of capping it would be more pressure on the input/output seals until they leak.

Default Vent

You cannot leave it capped the pressure will eventually come out of the next weakest link (the rear seal) It is like trying to cap your butthole you eventually will have to fart from somewhere.

Run your engine with out a breather system on it and see what happens. Same thing will happen with your engine or differential.

You are leaking fluid for a reason. Check your fluid level and make sure it is in fact coming out of the vent tube. Little damp might be normal but if it's leaking, you might have other issues.
