most shops charge book labor so usually how ever much time the book says it takes is how long they charge for. ive heard prices anywhere from $300-$500 for the labor

Good point
no harm in getting quotes form local speed shops and the GM dealers before hand

Local shop did mine at 6 hrs charged. I took it out myself 18 mos later to repl bent prop shaft - took a lot longer for me. Wish I would have paid the $$s.

Ive dropped and swapped 2 t56s between 2 cars, both on jackstands in 10 hours.. Just post up in the local forums, and see if you can find some one experienced to help you out.. Doing it yourself is alot more fun, and cheaper..

I have watched Steve at Monster Clutches do it in less than an hour - more than once. They charge something like $250.

I was told $500 at one of our sponsors local to me. I ended up doing it myself, bought a tick master and remote bleeder with the money saved. Its really easy.

Our shop is $90/hr. We ussually charge $350-$450 which goes around exhaust system ect.We also bleed the hydrilics ect. The total cost is ussually cheaper if we supply the clutch too.
