Default Monster # clutch life

How long is the monster 3 working for you LS1 guys? I have 400rwhp and go to the track 2-3 times a season and want something I can 4k launch with drags on but still daily drive during the summer. My research has led me to this clutch.

But how many miles assuming correct engagement does the monster 3 last?

TIA

I have never EVER gotten an answer other than "It depends how you drive it"
I'm guessing the "stage #" will have to do with its life as well...

It does depend mainly on how you drive the vehicle.

We have had numerous Level 3's last over 20k miles with aggressive driving done on a regular basis.

Give us a call at the shop if you have anymore questions.

well obviously snl would be the most knowledgable. I have 10k on my lvl3 at the moment with about 20 passes down the strip with my mods in sig launching with a 5k clutch dump lol. still no signs of slippage or anything that would make me think it will be going out any time soon

I have about 10000 miles on my stage 3 clutch. I am not making the same power as you but I drive the car hard and it still holds as good as new!

I had 23K on mine when we pulled it out. Looked like it had plenty of life left on it, and still grabbed hard with a small rear main leak. I would be one of the "aggressive" drivers.

Monster Level 3 here.... I don't street drive my car much except to and from the track. Last time I had the trans out the clutch/pp/flywheel still looked new and could still see the machine marks on the pp and flywheel. I have close to 200 track passes on this clutch and I dump it at 6200-6600 with slicks. Alot of those passes were hot laps, with no signs of overheating or clutch smell at all. Love this clutch!!

How close to stock does the level 3 feel? I am changing from stock to something aftermarket. This car is driven every day but will take trips to the track. The level 3 will handle the torque I am just wondering about the street manors. I have a level 4 in another car "gto" with a tick master and it feels much stiffer than stock as well as much less slip in trafic.

Once the break in process is complete you don't realize any difference at all.

Note thats not a missed gear for 3rd on the 1st pass its a gave up cause it wasnt going to be a new best it was a 1.60 60ft and wasnt gonna cut it

There is going to be an adjustment period for any driver coming from a stock clutch to a puck-style. The level 3 will require quicker engagement and less slippage on the street, and will tend to glaze some if you do a lot of stop and go driving. It is built to hold anything you throw at it at the track, and it's not a stock clutch so don't expect it to act just like one. On the other hand, it is one of the best and most popular aftermarket clutch kits for a reason.

Not to but does the stage three work using a stock f body master cylinder. Going to install a stage 3 next week in my Manual Trans class (for a lab grade!! Thanks Brookhaven Collge) with new slave but will not have Tick Master in time for the install. Will the "drill mod" get me by till I install the Tick Master?
