I replaced the stock flywheel with a hayes, spec clutch, spec pressure plate, new slave cyl. Placed tranny back in the car and no clutch. Pedal felt soft so we bled the system pedal still soft. Then replaced the clutch master cyl pedal still soft. Then read that spec setups may need to be shimmed. Pulled tranny back out measured the distance from the tranny case to the end of the throwout bearing came up with 2.29in (58.19mm) that was with a small .157 shim behind the slave. From the bell housing to the fingers on th pressure plate we had 2.203in (55.96mm) 2.203-2.291in=.088. 55.96-58.19mm=2.23mm With the shim that was installed @ the time of the slave of.157+.088=.245in So We installed a 1/4in shim behind the slave. tranny back in bled with mighty vac still no clutch pedal (cannot put the car in gear with clutch depressed while running) What's next and have I missed something? I've replaced everything that can be besides the resovior cup. Very depressed about the whole situation please help.......... |
