T-56 5th - Can I change the ratio? I road race a LT1 4th Gen w/ a T-56. It has the .74 5th gear. I need a .80-.85 5th. Does anyone know of a way to re-gear 5th in this thing w/out affecting 1st -4th ratios. I run a 3.42 rear gear so I can stay in 4th the whole track (230hp/300tq CMC car). I would like to swap to a 3.73 rear gear but the lack of a usable 5th makes me not want to do it.
I know there are several T-56's that came w/ a better 5th from the OEM (Ford and GM). Can anyone point me to the right place to make this happen? I dont even care if I keep 6th in the case or not, I just want a better 5th.
