Default clutch is sticking to floor

"""""flushed my system really good yesterday. i have a vacum tester with a one man brake bleeder kit. worked like a champ. filled with new fluid, pumped like 50 times and did it again. i had a lot of black mud looking stuff in the bottom of the resevoir. now its 100%clear. will probably do it again in a month or so.

also pulled out the spring on the clutch pedal. this is a super easy, 30 second deal. i cant believe i havent done this sooner! clutch now feels linear instead of on/off. you can control the amount of slip at launch. easier to take off in town with a little slip instead of the drop the pedal feel with the spring. best free mod out there. (other than a procharger for a birthday gift)

plan on getting back out to the track to test the work you guys have inspired me to do. but my thoughts are its fixed. thanks..... """""

found this on a vette site. Im having the same issues, sticking to the floor and most the time pops back up after a couple seconds. anyone have this issue? i am going to do whats posted above, but what spring are they talking about? the spring i see seems like you`d need it. sometimes when im just idling, its hard to get into gear, specailly reverse.
anyone wanna chim in.?
thanks

well. i was messing with it before school today, the fuilds a gray color, guess thats normal having braided fuel lines. but i did a few things, pushed the pedal. Doesnt stick. and shifts good again. wtf? lol i wont complain but still, odd. But now back to the clutch spring mod.

this has been covored a million times. Look in the manual trans section. Dont bandage it with the drill mod JUST BUY A TICK. Ive put it on 2 cars of mine now one 450 hp SS and now my vette sticking issue gone. Your clutch is basically not fully releasing

Clutch fluid breaks down, boils, releases gas, which fills the system and wont allow you to engage the clutch or dissengage it. Basically locks up the system.

Its a garbage system gm designed.

Tick is the best option but expensive. The drill mod is the quickest and cheapest mod for the time being. I myself have a Tick master but not everyone can afford it. Also get a vacuum bleeder from the parts store and use that. You more than likely have air in the system still.

Yeah its expensive when you blow your trans due to the sticking pedal. My tranny bill alone was 1200 dollars with upgrades. Then 400 for a clutch and another 350 for the tick total bill over 2 grand. you could probally get one rebuilt for under a grand maybe. The tick should be the first thing you do to a 6 spd car I ordered my tick the day I bought my vette. basically pay a little now or a lot later.

400 now or 2000 later hmmm tuff decision

There are and have been plenty of people riding on stock hydraulics with the drill mod. As i stated is the tick worth it? Yes. If you don't have 3xx to spend can you make yours better for a few hours and 6 bucks in brake fluid and a drill bit? Yes. Tuff decision.

The spring is on the pedal at the pivot point. It just allows for a smooth clutch pedal when it is removed.

Does everyone usually take it out?? For the most part my clutch feels fine. Other than engauging to early andor slow to come back. I'm thinking master and drill mod wil fix me up. Was just wondrong about the spring thing. Wondering if it would help. What do you think?

drill mod doesnt always work, i agree with billy, its either a tick, or dont floor it at all and save your tranny.

Most people take it out yes. I have mine in there to hold the pedal up till i finish the t56 swap in my car.

If your clutch sticks to the floor simply put your foot under it and pull it up.

Drill mod is useless. Buy a tick.
