Default 2000 F-body, Press Plate Broke, see pic

Hi all,
my clutch was not releasing all the way, so i rebuilt the Master Cylinder, no help!
so i pulled the tranny, and the Pressur eplate was broken, SEE PIC.

the piece was inside, preventing the PP from releasing the clutch all the way,
keeping drag on the clutch disk.

MY CAR IS ALL STOCK, 2000 SS Camaro,
all i do is Road Race the car on race tracks, LOTS of shifting for 30 minutes at a time.

What slightly better than stock clutch will bolt right in?

LS2 or LS6 clutch?

THANKS
mike

An LS2 clutch will require a different fly wheel. LS6 bolts right in.

If all your doing is mainly using it for road racing and your driving it hard for 30 minutes at a time, then maybe you'd want to just get a whole new clutch pack and flywheel while you already have it taken out. Just a thought.

Yeah I would at least suggest the LS7 also. But if you were set on just replacing clutch and pressure plate then LS6 is direct replacement. East coast corvettes on corvetteforum.com is also having a sale on LS7 clutch kits.

the LS7 clutch kit is only $429. I'm not sure about pricing on LS6
