The stock SSR is a M10 gear set with a 3.01:1 1st gear, all the other gears share the same ratio as the M12 gear set. This has nothing to do with a "hybred" as you can use any gear set available, even the MM6.

What are you talking about? old? new? The M10 was only used in the SSR in 2005-2006. Are you trying to compare that to the old 1993 M28 and M29 weak gear sets? Where are you "looking up" all this incorrect information?
Did you actually read the Hybrid SSR article I posted? While the viper upgrade is a great option, the Hybrid-SSR provides stronger internals AND double/triple cone synchros.
